2. About the Services
Doctor Devify Tools is a suite of tools for UK resident doctors. It currently includes:
- Foundation Ranker 2026 - a tool that helps users rank and compare foundation programme rotations based on preferences, priorities, and data sourced from Oriel, the GMC National Training Survey, individual foundation schools, and community-sourced digital systems data from Before You Rank by Doctor Devify.
- Before You Rank - a free, community-sourced database of NHS trust digital systems. It tracks EPR systems, documentation methods, prescribing systems, and integration levels across NHS trusts.
3. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using any Doctor Devify Tools, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the services. We may update these terms from time to time, and your continued use of the services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
4. User Accounts (Foundation Ranker Only)
To access Foundation Ranker, you must create an account. You can sign up using email and password, or sign in via Google OAuth. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secure
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used fraudulently.
Before You Rank does not require an account. It is freely accessible without registration.
5. Free and Paid Tiers (Foundation Ranker Only)
Foundation Ranker offers both free and paid tiers:
- Free tier: Provides access to basic ranking features with limited customisation options.
- Complete tier: Unlocks advanced features including additional data sources, enhanced preferences, and expanded ranking outputs.
We reserve the right to modify the features available in each tier at any time.
Before You Rank is entirely free with no paid tiers.
6. Payments (Foundation Ranker Only)
Payments for Complete access on Foundation Ranker are processed via Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to the following:
- The Complete upgrade is a one-time payment (price displayed at checkout). Access is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. There are no recurring subscriptions.
- Upon payment, you will receive a coupon code for a free ebook via Payhip as a bonus.
- Payments are non-refundable unless required by applicable law.
- We do not store your payment card details. All payment data is handled directly by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS standards.
7. Data Collection and Analytics
When you use Foundation Ranker, we collect usage data to improve the service. This data is stored server-side in our database (not via cookies or third-party analytics). Full details of what we collect and how we use it are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Before You Rank does not collect personal data or require any login. Both tools use Google Analytics 4 for general site analytics.
8. Newsletter
During Foundation Ranker signup, you may opt in to receive "The Ward Round" by Doctor Devify, a newsletter with tips, tools and resources for resident doctors. You may unsubscribe at any time by following the link in any newsletter email or by contacting us.
9. Data Accuracy Disclaimer
Foundation Ranker: The rotation data displayed is sourced from Oriel, the GMC National Training Survey, and individual foundation schools. Digital systems data (EPR, electronic notes, prescribing, system integration) is community-sourced via Before You Rank by Doctor Devify. This data has been cross-checked with multiple contributors and resources to ensure reasonable accuracy, but it is crowd-generated and may not reflect the most recent changes at any given trust.
Before You Rank: All trust digital systems data is community-sourced from junior doctors via Dr Dev Gakhar's community. It has been cross-checked with multiple contributors but is crowd-generated and may not reflect the latest changes at any given trust.
While we make reasonable efforts to keep all data accurate and up to date across both tools, we do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Data may contain errors, omissions, or become outdated. You should always verify details directly with the relevant foundation school, trust, or official source before making decisions. Rankings and data are for guidance only.
10. No Medical or Career Advice
Doctor Devify Tools are informational tools only. The rankings, outputs, and data displayed are based on your stated preferences and publicly available or community-sourced data. They do not constitute medical advice, career guidance, or a recommendation of any specific rotation, training programme, or NHS trust. You are solely responsible for your own career decisions, and we strongly recommend seeking advice from appropriate professional sources.
11. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, algorithms, data compilations, and branding associated with Doctor Devify Tools (including Foundation Ranker and Before You Rank) are the intellectual property of Doctor Devify Ltd unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of Doctor Devify Tools without our prior written consent. The underlying rotation and trust data remains the property of the respective organisations that published it.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We provide Doctor Devify Tools on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the services.
- Our total liability in connection with the services shall not exceed the amount you paid for access to Foundation Ranker's Complete tier, if applicable.
- We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on the rankings, data, or information provided by Doctor Devify Tools.
13. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Doctor Devify Tools for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the services without our permission
- Share your paid Foundation Ranker account access with other users
14. Changes to the Services
We may update, modify, or discontinue any Doctor Devify Tool (or any part of it) at any time without prior notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of any service.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
