New for 2027

In 2027, UK graduates and others in the priority group are offered interviews and training posts first. Read more here.
A new self-assessment question on scrotal explorations, worth up to 4 points.
The higher research degree question has gone. The self-assessment is now out of 36.
New experience bands: Paediatric Surgery scores most at 4 to 24 months, Adult General Surgery at 13 to 18 months, and 6 months in a neonatal post now scores 2.
Life support courses must be in person, and P and T cases count in the logbook questions.
The Career Progression interview station now includes non-technical skills.
