- Run-through specialties (e.g. GP, Clinical Radiology, Paediatrics) are a single competitive entry at ST1 with continuous training to CCT. Core training programmes (CST, IMT, ACCS-EM, Anaesthetics Core, Core Psych) are stage 1 only - you apply again for higher specialty. Higher specialty entry sits behind a prerequisite (e.g. IMT for cardiology).
